Embracing fun times

I did it!

Brie does a happy dance with 8-year-old Eliza and chants “We’re going on vacation.”, “We’re going on vacation.”

Brie felt so proud that she had accomplished saving for something that she values so much. She sat staring in disbelief at the number in her bank account $4391.25. “Wow” she thought. “I did it.” “I’m going on vacation.”

Brie had decided on vacationing in the summer, so she scheduled her time off, scheduled her Air BnB, scheduled the rental vehicle, and pre-planned all the places and sites that she considered a must-see while they were there.

Brie couldn’t stop smiling, she was so proud of herself for reaching this major milestone in her life, despite the many challenges.

“We’re going on vacation.”

It’s vacay time!

Brie and Eliza were so excited about their trip, that they couldn’t contain themselves. Brie decided to drive so that they could stop and see the beautiful scenery on the way, Brie also decided to stop in a few of the cities she needed to drive through to show Eliza all the fun activities she had tried previously. They went rafting in one city, indulged in “the best ice cream” in another, hiked in an enchanted fairytale-themed forest, took in the natural landscape in a few cities, got stuck in non-moving traffic for about 6 hours (panicked about having to cancel the vacation) but decided to get out of the car enjoy the moment and take some photos together, stayed in a fancy hotel, and eventually make it to their destination, where even more fun would be unleashed.

Brie and Eliza had a blast on vacation, they visited a massive aquarium, visited a restaurant where they indulged in “Teppanyaki style dining” – the food is prepared in front of you and chefs create large flames in front of diners as part of the experience. They also traveled on a large ship, did some whale watching, visited a humungous outdoor waterpark, they even tried kayaking for the first time, and so much more. There is no denying this was the vacation of the year.

Two years after their vacation Brie decides to do a 3 day drive to discover more about her local area. Beeaautiful! And she and Eliza had so much fun enjoying each other’s company! This time she rented a pickup truck and Eliza got to ride in the back when they pulled onto a dirt road for a break. They both enjoyed snacks and chatted in the back, took plenty of photos, and laughed so much.

A few months later they embarked on another funfilled road trip and discovered the windiest city with many lakes in their area. They discovered a waterfall and interesting colored rocks on a hike. Eliza was even inspired to start a beautiful rock collection, they took photos, and they even packed bicycles to ride when they arrived but it was too cold so they decided to camp in the minivan they rented for the trip. They ended the trip with a boat ride and made their way home.
