You have always had “The Lhook”, all that is needed is for you to embrace it.
Lhook
Lhook is the brainchild of Caleece, who immigrated to Canada with her family many years ago and has resided there since then. Lhook was inspired by Caleece’s intense passion for helping others.
During her time as an entrepreneur in the beauty industry, she recognized that though individuals may have a bright outer appearance, some persons are oftentimes buried beneath crippling insecurities.
At a young age, Caleece learned that she too was no stranger to such insecurities when she decided to experiment with wearing makeup at 15 years old. Caleece soon recognized that she felt inadequate. But Why?
When Caleece first applied mascara to her lashes, her eyes widened at the sight of the brightness mascara “seemed” to bring to her facial features. From that moment onwards mascara became her “emotional crutch”. A compliment or two about the mascara further fueled the flame.
But Caleece could not shake the feeling that when leaving her house she felt that she was incomplete without her mascara. The crippling fear that she was not “good enough” kept her trapped in an ever-worsening cycle of “self-hatred”. But where could this ideation have come from?
Eventually, the intense emotional turmoil Caleece experienced, at the thought of being in the presence of others in her natural state became too much to bear, and she thought, If people can’t love me for “who I am”, they are not for me. And if I can’t love myself for “who I am” then I should not be wearing hair extensions, makeup, any other adornments, or make any changes to my physical appearance until I can confidently love and appreciate “me”.
At 15 years old Caleece learned that her hair, makeup, clothing, etc. are all avenues through which she can express who she truly is. “She” gives them life. “They” are not who she is.
The “L” in Lhook represents “Love”, and the “H” represents “Her”. “LH” is paired with the word “Look”, which refers to looking within yourself for your true self and sharing her with the world.
